The Role
Do you excel at organisation and communication, and want to be part of a dynamic school environment?
We are looking for a professional administrator/receptionist with excellent communication skills to be the first point of contact for parents / carers, pupils, staff and visitors at our busy school. Working as part of the Administration Team, you will liaise with outside agencies, assist with pupil first aid and undertake routine clerical and administrative duties.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills. In addition, you will be self-motivated and able to deal with issues in a calm and professional manner.
Responsibilities
* Be the first point of contact for parents/carers, pupils, staff and visitors.
* Liaise with outside agencies and support administrative processes.
* Assist with pupil first aid and general clerical tasks.
* Undertake routine administrative duties as part of the Administration Team.
Qualifications and Skills
* 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent – Essential
* Word Processing, Typing or Business Administration qualification – Desirable
* Current First Aid qualification – Desirable
* Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children – Essential
* Commitment to safeguarding pupils and suitability to work with young people – Essential
* Ability to attend occasional events outside the school day – Essential
Experience and Knowledge
* At least 6 months’ previous administrative experience in a busy environment – Essential
* Experience of face-to-face and telephone reception duties – Essential
* Knowledge of Data Protection requirements and understanding of confidentiality – Essential
* Ability to work successfully as part of a team – Essential
* An enhanced DBS check is required; the successful applicant will apply for a DBS or give consent to check status if registered with the DBS Update Service. The Trust complies with the DBS Code of Practice.
