Job Purpose To provide essential support to social workers in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Birmingham’s most vulnerable children and young people, delivering a high-quality service to children, families, and carers. Key Responsibilities Casework
* Manage an allocated casework role as assigned by the Team Manager or social worker.
Assessments & Interventions
* Collect, accurately record, and critically analyse relevant information using management information systems.
* Take appropriate action to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
* Provide practical day-to-day support to children and their families as directed.
Partnership Working
* Liaise and collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure services are joined-up and achieve optimal outcomes for children and young people.
Case Recording & Reporting
* Maintain accurate records and reports in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
* Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences through written, verbal, and other communication methods.
Development & Accountability
* Take personal responsibility for professional development and reflective practice.
* Keep up-to-date with legislation, court rules, policies, procedures, and best practice.
* Attend team meetings and service reviews, contributing to the team’s outcomes.
* Support the Team Manager with additional duties as required.

* Supervising Officer: Team Manager
* Level of Supervision: Work within established guidelines; work subject to regular review and scrutiny by supervisor.
