The Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship is available for highly motivated individuals who will complete the degree programme alongside their employment as a Police Officer. The probationary period for this role will be three years to accommodate the Degree Programme. The Degree will be a BA in Policing provided by a university provider.
As a Police Constable, after your initial training, you will be based at locations throughout the county to meet the demands of the organisation, with the requirement to work anywhere in the force.

As a Police Officer, your job will be to reduce crime and the fear of crime, and promote confidence among local people that the police understand and are prepared to deal with the issues that matter most to you.
You will work in the frontline of the criminal justice system and community engagement, responsible for protection of life and property, crime prevention and detection, and maintenance of public order. You will support victims and witnesses and provide reassurance to those affected by crime and anti-social behaviour. You will work in partnership with the public and other organisations to make a difference in the community.

You will work 40 hours per week on rotating shifts after initial training, including weekends, nights, and bank holidays, over a 365/6-day year.
You must hold:
* A level 2 qualification in Maths and English (grade C/4 or above)
* Two A levels or a level 3 qualification in any subject (e.g., National Diploma, Level 3 NVQ, Access to Higher Education Diploma)
* A full manual driving licence
* Resided in the UK for at least the last 3 years
