Job Title: Transport Contracts Monitoring Officer Salary: £29,832 - £31,877 per annum 35 Hours per Week Location: Warndon Depot, Pershore Lane, Worcester Team: Contracts and Compliance Team Permanent Contract The Role: We are looking for a committed and detail-focused Transport Monitoring Officer to support Worcestershire County Council in ensuring that transport services across the county are safe, reliable, and compliant. This is a varied, field-based role where you will monitor contracted transport services, ensuring compliance with legislation and the council’s terms and conditions, while supporting continuous service improvement. Key Responsibilities Undertake on-site monitoring of contracted transport services across Worcestershire Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and council standards Assess contractor performance against specifications and contractual requirements Record findings clearly and provide accurate, evidence-based reports Investigate complaints, incidents, and non-compliance, recommending appropriate action Work collaboratively with operators and internal teams to resolve issues and improve service delivery Support contract management, audit, and performance monitoring activities To support and assist with asset management and passenger transport timetable network About You – Our Competency Framework We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the following behaviours: Delivering Results Takes responsibility for monitoring activities and follows through on actions Works efficiently and manages time effectively across a varied workload Maintains high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all reporting Working Together Builds positive and professional relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders Works collaboratively to resolve issues and improve outcomes Shares information appropriately and supports team objectives Communicating and Influencing Communicates clearly and positively, both verbally and in writing Produces concise, accurate reports based on evidence Is able to challenge non-compliance constructively and professionally Customer Focus Understands the impact of transport services on residents and service users Strives to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality services Responds appropriately to concerns, complaints, and feedback Making Evidence-Based Decisions Collects and evaluates information from monitoring activities Makes balanced, informed judgements based on facts and policy Identifies risks and escalates issues where necessary Personal Responsibility and Accountability Works independently and uses initiative in a field-based role Maintains integrity and professionalism at all times Takes ownership of compliance and safeguarding responsibilities Essential Requirements Experience in a compliance, monitoring, transport, or contract-related role Strong observational and reporting skills Good knowledge of relevant transport legislation (or willingness to learn) Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle What We Offer A role where you can directly improve services for Worcestershire residents Supportive team environment and professional development Benefits: You’ll find an overview of the benefits Worcestershire County Council have to offer on our webpage Worcestershire County Council - Why work for us?
