Position details
The post-holder will work within an innovative mental health community-based setting in Halton. Sessional hours working flexibly. Zero hour contract due to additional funding with a provisional end date for funding 31 May 2026. Salary: £14.34 - £16.40 per hour (sessional rate).
The Childrens Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. Were there for children, every step of the way.
This role sits within our Youth Impact directorate, which works to provide one-to-one support for children who need support. We deliver services in various areas in England and offer a genuinely different way of delivering access to mental and emotional health support. We dont want young people to reach crisis point to get help, feel their worry is too small, or have to wait to receive care they deserve.
Halton Resolve is an emotional health and wellbeing service designed to support children, young people, and families in Halton affected by domestic abuse. The service aims to reduce the impact of abuse on individuals and the wider community by offering tailored interventions and support.
To be considered for this post you must demonstrate the following:
Skills
* Ability to evaluate your current practice and reflect on training.
* Computer literate and able to navigate a data management system.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Able to develop good therapeutic relationships.
* Competent in undertaking risk assessments.
* Able to supervise other staff members and encourage colleagues.
Work-based Knowledge
* In-depth knowledge of mental health presentation in children and young people and the need for evidence-based intervention.
* Demonstrates knowledge of how environmental factors impact mental health.
* Ability to demonstrate knowledge of barriers preventing children and young people accessing mental health services.
