THE COMPANY
Mims and Errington Reay are amongst the UK's leading brands of outdoor pots and garden products to the garden centres and major retailers for over 38 years. We are recruiting for a full-time permanent Merchandiser, ideally placed around the postcodes of HR and WR with an immediate start to add to our growing team of Merchandisers.
THE ROLE
Based from home but working remotely, you will be responsible for managing the requirements of our existing customer base within a defined geography, primarily around the population centres of West Midlands. You will work alongside our sales team to make sure that customers are professionally serviced, ensuring that retail displays are always full, handling claims, product ordering and other customer service-related tasks. This is a dual role, with your time split between a traditional customer service function and the creation and maintenance of customer displays on-site.
As this role involves heavy lifting and handling of stock, you must be physically fit and able to manually manage heavy loads. Whilst full training will be provided, this role would suit someone who enjoys working outdoors and on their own. You must be flexible with working hours during peak season, during which time you may be required to work alongside other colleagues to share the workload and service the needs of the business. In exceptional circumstances, you will be asked to service locations that involve long distance driving, which may require an overnight stay.
You will report directly into the Operations Manager and will update the business with the required reports concerning your accounts.
TRAINING
The company will provide full on-site training for the role. Depending on scheduling, your training may take place elsewhere in the UK, so flexibility will be required. Training is usually conducted over a weeklong period, after which time you will be expected to be able to function largely independently. Your training block will include both practical and theory-based information, requiring some work from home.
COMPANY VEHICLE
You will be provided with a company van and fuel card for business use only.
You must be over 25 with a clean, valid driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
REMUNERATION
* £29,000 per annum to start
* Vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone and all required work wear and tools
* 20 days holiday plus 8 statutory holidays for the first year, rising to 33 days with service
* A day off on your birthday
* Time in lieu and overtime pay for additional hours worked
This position is a full time permanent position with a 6-month probation period.
