About the role
The University of Leicester is seeking to fill two positions at Grade 7 (Research Associate) or Grade 8 (Senior Research Associate) to work within the three research themes, ‘Discovery’, ‘Interventions’ and ‘Populations’, as part of a new Centre of Research Excellence in cardiovascular research. Successful candidates will be appointed to either Research Associate (Grade 7) or Senior Research Associate (Grade 8) depending on experience. The Grade 8 role will involve leading the planning and delivery of the research programme and overseeing research governance, while Grade 7 will contribute to the overall research programme. Please refer to the two attached job summary forms for further particulars. There are two positions available.
Responsibilities
* Grade 8: lead on the planning and delivery of the research programme and oversee research governance.
* Grade 7: contribute to the overall research programme.
* Collaborate across themes and with Centres of research excellence in related areas (e.g., diabetes research, artificial intelligence, data analytics and modelling, environmental health and sustainability, ethnic health research).
About you
* PhD or significant equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
* Grade 7: emerging track record of delivering research projects on time and national/international recognition in your field.
* Grade 8: proven track record of delivering research projects on time and national/international recognition in your field.
* Extensive experience in developing and devising research models, theories, techniques and methods, and clear forward plans for sustaining and enhancing the research programme.
* Experience in securing research funding and managing budgets is essential for Grade 8.
