Your Role as an Occupational Therapist
As an OT at Soar, you will:
* Implement naturalistic occupational therapy for children aged 2-6 years in a center-based setting, focusing on autism.
* Craft tailored interventions to enhance gross motor and fine motor skills, feeding practices, and daily living activities.
* Conduct multidisciplinary assessments and develop collaborative treatment plans with other clinical areas (ABA, speech therapy, psychology), including co-treatments with speech therapists.
* Mentor and guide a team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to integrate OT goals into their therapy, enhancing their approach to autism care.
* Monitor client progress, update treatment plans and goals, and communicate necessary adjustments to team members and families.
* Work closely with families, setting goals, building relationships, sharing progress, and providing coaching and support on their journey.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
* A degree in Occupational Therapy with a focus on pediatrics or a related field.
* Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
* Experience working with children with autism or related developmental disorders.
* A strong understanding of and commitment to early intervention and integrated care approaches.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a passion for supporting the growth and development of children with autism.
