Job Description
We are recruiting three Insurance Business Development Executives (BDEs) to grow Marsh’s SME commercial segment in Witham, Egham, and Worcester.
This is a hybrid role requiring you to work at least four days a week on the road or in the office.
Each BDE will focus on direct-to-client acquisition and the fast, repeatable placement of commercial risks with premiums between £5,000 and £20,000. The role prioritises Commercial Combined, Contractors, and general commercial product lines, requiring strong prospecting, quoting, and disciplined pipeline management.
We will count on you to:
1. New business generation: Proactively source, qualify, and convert direct client opportunities within the £5k–£20k premium band.
2. Velocity & conversion: Drive fast sales cycle times through disciplined qualification, quoting, and follow-up to improve conversion rates.
3. Handover & early retention: Deliver a clear handover to servicing/account teams and support early retention activity during the first 12 months.
4. Market insight: Provide market and insurer appetite intelligence to Product teams to help shape propositions for this segment.
5. Relationship building: Develop direct client relationships and, where appropriate, productive introducer or referral relationships that generate direct client leads.
