Overview
Maintenance Technician – Leeds Leisure Centres (Morley, Armley, and Holt Park). This role follows a four-day rolling shift pattern with a primary base at one site and cover at the other sites when needed.
Responsibilities
* Maintain pool water quality and manage plant operations.
* Open/close procedures, conduct daily pool water checks, liaise with council teams, and manage on-site contractors.
* Use the CAFM system to manage and record tasks; assess and complete maintenance jobs within your skillset or coordinate with colleagues and contractors as required.
* Support the wider team with general site duties, including cleaning, janitorial tasks, and litter picking.
* Reactive maintenance tasks include minor repairs (wall filling, decorating, leak repairs, plumbing), lamp changes, tile grouting, silicone sealing, and general handyman duties; pool plant management is a key component.
* Work pattern consists of 10-hour shifts over four days (typical hours 6am–4pm or 1pm–11pm); weekend shifts may finish earlier depending on operational needs.
Qualifications and Skills
* Solid understanding of building maintenance and facilities management; experience in a similar role is preferred.
* Proactive, safety-conscious, and committed to high standards of work; good knowledge of health and safety practices (training will be provided).
* Ability to manage workload, communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and maintain accurate records.
* Flexible approach to working hours; participation in an on-call rota may be required; full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is preferred as travel between sites is necessary.
