Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor

Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our team on a project based in Barrow. You will manage the project commercial team, advise on risks and opportunities, support regional management accounts, and contribute to contract reviews. This is a permanent role with NG Bailey, with a project duration of approximately 2 years, with potential for further work.
We are also open to considering candidates at Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
Candidates must be able to obtain security clearance; only British nationals considered.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote safety first in all activities.
* Ensure accuracy of project risk and opportunity schedules, identify measures to protect and improve profitability.
* Implement mitigation strategies and report progress.
* Lead the commercial team, maximize team potential.
* Build relationships with clients, suppliers, and vendors; negotiate contract terms and final accounts.
* Attend contract reviews; ensure cost and value forecasts are accurate.
* Assist with business plans and management accounts; maintain records to manage disputes.
* Monitor commercial performance of the project and team.
* Prepare and communicate the commercial plan, ensuring understanding of obligations and risks.
* Manage payment applications and ensure timely receipt.
* Oversee subcontracts, including terms and conditions.
Qualifications:
* Experience managing the commercial performance of construction projects.
* Experience with NEC contracts (preferred).
* Experience leading a team.
