Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary School Teacher to work across specialist and alternative education provisions in Monmouthshire, supporting excluded Key Stage 2 pupils on a 1:1 basis.
This role is ideal for a teacher who is confident delivering the Welsh primary curriculum in a tailored and flexible way, and who is passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs. Many of the pupils you will work with have faced barriers to mainstream education, and your support will play a vital role in helping them re-engage with learning, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
The role
• Delivering high-quality 1:1 teaching to excluded KS2 pupils
• Planning and adapting lessons in line with the Welsh National Curriculum
• Creating a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment
• Supporting pupils’ emotional regulation, confidence and engagement
• Using flexible and creative teaching approaches to meet individual needs
• Working closely with support staff, SEN professionals and external agencies
• Monitoring progress and adapting strategies to support reintegration where appropriate
Requirements
The ideal Primary School Teacher will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to register
• Strong knowledge of the Welsh primary curriculum
• Experience or interest in working with excluded pupils, SEMH or additional learning needs
• A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• A proactive and flexible teaching style
• Ability to drive is preferred but not essential
