Role Overview:
This role is at the core of the tooling and maintenance operation, ensuring all newly produced injection mould tooling components meet the highest quality standards before release to production. You will lead investigations, document inspections, and contribute to tooling improvement projects and lifecycle assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct inspections on newly manufactured tooling components and trial outputs.
* Maintain detailed quality records and inspection documentation.
* Lead root cause investigations into product performance issues and customer concerns.
* Serve as the quality point of contact for the tooling department during internal audits and 8D investigations.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling design, wear, and recurring issues.
* Manage tooling insert data and documentation, including change tracking and usage analysis.
* Support decisions on tool replacement, maintenance cycles, and performance trends.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a quality-focused role within engineering or manufacturing (preferably tooling/injection moulding).
* Knowledge of IATF/ISO 9001 and IATF/ISO 14001 standards.
* Experience with advanced inspection tools such as CMM, 3D scanners, and vision systems.
* Familiarity with data analysis techniques; Six Sigma or similar methodologies are desirable.
* Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to liaise across departments and present findings.
* Computer literacy in tracking quality metrics, trend analysis, and digital documentation.
