Westonbirt School is looking for an engaging and talented teacher who has the relevant skills and lived experience as well as a palpable passion for their subject to take on the role of Teacher of Art and Photography. Ideally, the candidate will be capable of teaching up to A Level standard.
The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional learning experiences for their students within and beyond the classroom, and keen to contribute to wider aspects of School life.
The position is a part time role for a 0.4 timetable and the role will commence in September 2026.

Job Description:
Teaching and Learning
9. Planning and preparing lessons that are engaging and suitably adapted to the needs of the learners in the class
10. Marking and moderating of work according to school guidelines
11. Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
12. Organising and participating in extracurricular activities
13. Contributing to the development of the department's provision in and beyond the classroom.
Key Events and Academic Calendar
14. To attend parents’ evenings, open mornings and where appropriate to the role, or delegated by the DHA, information evenings and other events as required.
15. Support relevant outreach events with feeder schools
16. Support other key school events, such a performances, extracurricular trips and activities week trips
17. Attend all calendared INSET days
Person Specification:
The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and qualities:
Skills:
18. Committed to deliver outstanding teaching based on exceptional subject and pedagogical knowledge
19. Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
20. Excellent planning, administration and time management skills
21. The ability to work to deadlines
Experience:
22. Educated to degree level with Qualified Teacher Status or keen to achieve QTS
23. A track record of excellent pupil progress and attainment
24. Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development.
