We are looking for a skilled and motivated electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team. What You'll Be Working On
Our engineering team maintains and supports a wide range of production and automation equipment, including:
* Fruit grading equipment
* Flow wrapping machines
* Robotic case packers
* Strappers
* Palletisers
* Conveyors
* Pumps
This role offers excellent exposure to automated production systems, fault finding and continuous improvement projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will support the smooth running of our production and packing operations by ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across site equipment and machinery
* Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
* Working closely with production teams to plan maintenance activities and minimise operational disruption
* Assisting with equipment upgrades, installations and commissioning projects
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems
* Managing critical spare parts inventory and sourcing replacement components when required
* Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and health and safety legislation
* Supporting root cause analysis and implementing long-term corrective actions following equipment failures
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, food processing or similar environment
* Strong electrical engineering background with mechanical maintenance capability
* Recognised engineering qualification such as:
o Electrical Apprenticeship
o City & Guilds
o ONC/HNC
o NVQ Level 3
o 18th Edition
o Equivalent engineering qualification
* PLC fault finding and diagnostic experience
* Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
* Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
* Excellent understanding of health and safety requirements
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments
Desirable:
* Experience working within food manufacturing, fresh produce, packaging or automated production environments
* Continuous improvement experience
Working Hours
The role operates on a rotating shift basis, primarily covering:
* 07:00 - 19:00
* 12:00 - 00:00
Some 09:00 - 21:00 shifts may be required during quieter operational periods.
Salary
£57,750 per annum
