Overview:
One of my local government clients is seeking an experienced Development Project Manager to lead a Housing Planned Projects Team within Housing Asset Management division.
This role is pivotal to the successful delivery of a significant capital programme, focusing on refurbishment, compliance, and small-scale development projects across the council’s housing stock.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of Project Managers, Clerks of Works, consultants, and contractors (including the Council's term contractor, Cardo)
*
Oversee refurbishment and planned works across 6,000+ housing units
*
Manage projects covering Decent Homes standards, enveloping, compliance, and external decoration works
*
Support small-scale developments such as conversions and infill projects
*
Collaborate with the Asset Data, Compliance, and Repairs teams
*
Deliver a programme valued at approximately £16 million
*
Drive performance through a data-led project management approach
*
Contribute to strategic change and transformation within internal teams and partner organisations
Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience managing housing capital projects in a local authority setting
*
Strong leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams
*
Knowledge of compliance, refurbishment, and development in the public housing sector
*
Ability to lead data-informed project delivery
*
Comfortable driving strategic change in growing teams
