We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant for a 6-month temporary assignment with a fantastic organization, located just a few miles from Cambridge City Centre, with parking nearby.
As the Management Accountant, you will provide operational information and advice to the Finance Manager, Commercial Accountant, Head of Business Services, and Senior Managers on financial performance. You will support and mentor them in planning and financial operations of their sections.
This role involves offering a wide range of financial management advice and support across areas including financial strategy, planning and analysis, accounting and processing, financial advice and assistance, financial management, staff training and development, professional reporting, liaison, and networking.
This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, with the option for hybrid working.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* Qualified accountant (ACMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA) with evidence of ongoing professional development
* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a medium/large organization in the HE or public sectors
* Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data
* Experience managing and delivering comprehensive finance services
* Experience designing financial procedures
* Understanding of 5-Year Planning, Financial Modelling, etc.
* Good knowledge of business processes and financial systems
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with tact and diplomacy
* Ability to work proactively and independently, often under deadlines
* Excellent PC skills, especially Excel
* Confidence in advising and supporting senior managers or directors
* Working knowledge of property matters and Facilities Management
