Role overview:
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to ensure meeting or exceeding sales & KPI targets. Setting clear sales goals, tracking performances whilst evolving processes to ensure continuous store growth.
* Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training & continuously developing your staff. Building a motivated and high performing team, increasing chances of store success.
* Analysing sales data and financial reports to make quick and well-informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying and responding to areas of opportunity operationally & commercially.
* Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
* Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
* Helping manage day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
* Supporting cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
* Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
* Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
* Supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role objectives and KPIs:
* Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
* Drive all additional KPIs including but not limited to Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
* Achieve upselling or cross-selling targets.
* Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
* Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
* Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training required.
* Ensure employee satisfaction scores or engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
* Assist in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience :
* Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
* Passionate about retail & hold a good understanding of the latest trends and competitors.
* Previous experience of coaching and developing individuals.
* Strong communication skills.
* Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
* Experience in analysing KPIs data to make commercial decisions.
* Keen eye for detail & commerciality. Previous experience within visual merchandising would be advantageous.
