East Lothian is a beautiful and varied landscape stretching from the coastline to the north, across the agricultural plain to the Lammermuir Hills to the south. Bordering Edinburgh, it is also an area undergoing significant development and becoming part of our planning service is an opportunity to help shape and guide this at an exciting time.

Based within the heart of the area in Haddington, less than 20 miles from Edinburgh, the role offers the potential for great work / life balance, with the flexibility of hybrid working. A great place to further develop your career, within a supportive and friendly environment.

Employees will be expected to attend Council offices for the duration of induction, and be on site in East Lothian workplaces, as required. Employees with a hybrid working arrangement in place will be office based and able to work from home, with permission, on an ad hoc basis.
