Food Manufacturing Ilminster, Somerset | £44,000-£49,000 per annum DOE | Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm (1-hour lunch) | Full-Time Introduction Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Maintenance Team Leader for a leading food manufacturing business in Ilminster.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of engineers in a fast-paced environment, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is carried out efficiently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Duties
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance engineers, managing performance, attendance, and development.
* Prioritise and issue daily work to site engineers, ensuring all maintenance duties meet company standards and Health & Safety procedures.
* Provide cover for breakdowns, projects, and planned preventative maintenance to improve OEE and reduce wastage.
* Manage maintenance budget, stores, work order planning, and CMMS accuracy.
* Conduct root cause analysis to reduce recurring breakdowns and improve operational efficiency.
* Support continuous improvement projects across the site.
Requirements
* Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
* Hands‑on experience in manufacturing maintenance.
* Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
* Formal electrical or mechanical qualifications (HNC/Degree)
