Pre-Contracts Engineer – Turnkey M&E Projects Tendering Engineer
Are you a cmechanical / hydraulic engineer with a commercial edge and a flair for developing tailored proposals?
We’re working with a rapidly growing engineering firm that delivers complex, high-value turnkey M&E solutions across a range of UK sectors and they’re expanding their Pre-Contracts team.
Cards on the table this role exists because it is replacing the last person that I placed. Where have they gone you ask? They’ve been promoted and are moving into a technical specialist role.
This is your chance to do the same at this specialist company at the forefront of its field.
You’ll play a crucial role in winning new business by turning client challenges into actionable, costed, and innovative engineering solutions.
The Opportunity:
You’ll work closely with internal engineering teams, project managers, clients, and suppliers to help coordinate solutions, price them, and produce detailed technical proposals.
With regular site visits across the UK, no two days will be the same. From water to infrastructure and manufacturing, the project diversity is genuinely exciting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and write detailed technical and commercial proposals for M&E solutions
* Engage with clients to understand operational needs, budgets, and technical challenges
* Source and assess supplier and subcontractor quotes
* Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate technical input
* Assess risks and assist in programme planning and tender returns
* Maintain CRM data and project pipelines
What We’re Looking For:
* Hands-on mechanical or hydraulic engineering experience
* Technical sales, proposals, or pre-contracts role
* Strong commercial acumen
* Confident communicator with solid relationship-building skills
* A self-starter who thrives in a team environment and is health and safety conscious
