Specialist Nurse – Palliative Care (Bank)
Bishops Wood Hospital, Middlesex. Bank shifts. Salary: up to £26.00 per hour, depending on level of experience, training and qualification. Cross‑site work between Bishops Wood and Clementine Churchill Hospitals.
Duties Of This Role
* Deliver safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
* Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long‑term conditions.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of care pathways and protocols based on national guidelines and best practice.
* Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions.
* Act as a key contact for patients, ensuring consistent, coordinated care throughout their treatment journey.
* Signpost to additional services and resources to support holistic care.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
* Level 7 Palliative Care Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration.
* Significant post‑registration experience in the relevant specialty area.
* Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Postgraduate qualification or recognised specialist training in the relevant clinical area.
* Non‑medical prescribing qualification (if applicable to role).
* Experience in audit, service improvement, or clinical leadership.
* Teaching or mentorship qualification.
