Malmaison and Hotel du Vin have 37 boutique hotels across the UK. This position supports 19 properties in the North Region, from Birmingham to Brighton, with regular travel between sites. The role may also involve other regions depending on business needs.
We are seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support the Property & Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic environment, assisting the Property Manager in overseeing hotel operations and maintenance activities. Responsibilities include vendor management, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, supporting budgets, and promoting sustainability.
You will provide operational and administrative support, acting as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders such as finance, development managers, and contractors. Maintaining high standards of property performance, safety, and guest satisfaction is key.
What you’ll be doing as an Assistant Property Manager:
* Assist in daily property operations, including supporting maintenance managers, hotel visits, and safety protocols.
* Support the Property Manager in leading Maintenance Managers and their teams.
* Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely service and contractual compliance.
* Monitor property expenses, track budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Conduct property inspections and audits for safety and compliance, and support safety procedures and audit actions.
* Support energy efficiency, waste management, and ESG initiatives through data collection and reporting.
* Coordinate property projects, repairs, and renovations with contractors and internal teams, including pre-start meetings and scope clarity.
* Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, and compliance documentation, providing updates to stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
* Experience in property or maintenance management in hospitality is preferred.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of construction, Hard FM, and project management processes.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
* Experience with maintenance processes and vendor management.
* Proficiency in MS Office and property management systems like CAFM and compliance portals.
* Proactive approach to process improvement and workflow automation.
* A team player who shares a passion for property management.
* Willingness to travel nationally.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
