Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Breast Care Unit has a Hologic 3Dimensions Mammography System. The post holder will be expected to operate this unit daily in order to provide a high quality imaging service for all patients.
The post holder will be expected to provide care for our patients in both busy one-stop clinics as well as surveillance and family history clinics, and must be confident to perform a comprehensive range of breast procedures without supervision.
As a teaching hospital, it is expected that the post holder will undertake training, teaching and supervision of junior staff. In addition, the post holder must be motivated to undertake training themselves and to develop new skills.
As a senior member of staff, it is expected that the post holder will assist with all tasks associated with the organisation and smooth running of the Breast Unit.

Education and Qualification
Essential criteria
* BSc Hons Diagnostic Radiography
* PG Certificate in Mammography
* HCPC Registration
* Interest in further study and CPD, including research and audit
Experience
Essential criteria
* Minimum two years experience working within a symptomatic breast unit or within the NHSBSP
* Demonstrate experience of having previously worked in a team environment
* Experience of working with sensitive information and possessing an understanding of confidentiality
* Experience working with hospital/clinical based systems
Desirable criteria
* General radiography experience
Skills and Knowledge

* Confidence to deal with patients and members of the public
* Ability to maintain clear and accurate records
* Possess good time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
* Ability to communicate routine information where there may be barriers to understanding
