Overview
Build state of the art Technology Platforms for the design and production of high efficiency MicroLED products
Responsibilities
* Build state of the art Technology Platforms for the design and production of high efficiency MicroLED products
* Technical lead on the epitaxial growth of III-V semiconductor materials gallium nitride (GaN) or gallium phosphide (GaP)
* Support strategic IP development and contribute to technical publications/patents
* Oversee the analysis, development, and testing of new processes, including characterisation, process control, and quality assurance
* Collaborate closely with engineering teams including Process Engineering, Equipment Owners, Characterisation & Test, and Shift Engineers in order to deliver successful outcomes
* Ensure compliance with all operational standards, including health & safety, environmental, and FAB procedures.
* Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, improvement, and efficiency
* Maintain high-quality standards while developing in a production environment
* Mentor and develop engineers, building expertise and fostering growth across the team
* Drive continuous improvement in epitaxial yield, throughput, and cost efficiency
* Support new material development and exploratory R&D projects
Qualifications
* Ph.D or Master's with extensive experience in Materials Science, Physics, or related field
* 5-10+ years of hands-on MOCVD epitaxy experience
* Technical expert within gallium nitride (GaN) or gallium phosphide (GaP)
* Hands-on experience with MOCVD systems (Veeco, AIXTRON, etc.)
* Experience in scaling processes to production and leading technical teams
* A proven track record of bringing new technologies to fruition
* A very good understanding of the engineering challenges relating to the development and manufacture of LEDs
* Knowledge of the technology landscape and competition
* Familiar with gated product development processes
* Familiar with Failure Analysis, Defect classification and quality tools
* Creative thinking to optimize processes under complex constraints
* Ability to stay motivated through setbacks or inconclusive results

* Experience within Photonics
* Experience with MicroLED
* Knowledge of optical, thermal and/or electrical simulation
* Experience of analogue and power technology
* Knowledge of device processing
