About the Role
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our Research and Development team at Lincat. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting product development, quality, and purchasing objectives through effective product testing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine testing of gas products, ensuring they meet required standards and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, reliable products.
Hours of work
This role is based on 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Product life testing: undertake routine product life testing. Build and develop the test rigs as necessary.
* Component life testing: Undertake routine component life testing. Build and develop the test rigs as necessary.
* Quality issue investigation: work with Engineering to investigate Product and Component quality issues. This will involve investigative work.
* New product development: work with the project teams to support new product development projects by building, testing concepts and final designs.
* Test facilities: work with the Engineering team to establish a refreshed testing facility in the Lincoln factory. Ensure the facilities are maintained and improved and the equipment is calibrated.
* Gas product testing: Lincat must undertake routine testing of gas products. The person in this role will work with the auditing engineer and undertake the lab testing.
* Inspection cover: cover for factory inspection as required.
* Customer returns: root cause analysis of customer returns.
* Technical reports: generate technical reports to support findings.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
* Ability to manage personal workload effectively to maximise contributions
* Mechanical and electrical dexterity is essential in order to assemble mechanical and electrical components, test jigs and fixtures
* Attention to detail, particularly to safety requirements, is essential
* Effective team worker, able to support the work of the team
* Good testing experience
* Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Formal engineering qualification – HNC, HND, preferably mechanical or electrical, is advantageous, but equivalent industry experience will also be relevant.
* Experience in diagnosing faults is particularly relevant
