Caretaker - Over 50s Housing Community (Medway) £28,500 Full Time | This role is Permanent but will start on a Temporary basis Mon-Thurs 8:30am-4:30pm, Fri 8:30am-3:30pm Company Van Fuel Card Provided - You must have a Driving Licence Are you someone who takes pride in keeping spaces clean, safe and welcoming? We're recruiting a Caretaker to support two brand-new blocks of flats in Medway designed for residents aged 50 and over. This is a rewarding, people-focused role where you'll be the friendly face of the building-helping create a safe, clean, tidy and supportive environment residents are proud to call home. What you'll be doing You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep of the buildings, grounds and communal areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety. Duties include: Cleaning & Facilities Care Regular cleaning of communal areas including hallways, toilets, entranceways and shared spaces Supporting flat turnarounds for re-lets when required Window cleaning Keeping refuse areas clean, clear and well-maintained Checking and replacing communal light bulbs Reporting repairs via a handheld device Gardening & Grounds Maintenance Lawn mowing, hedge cutting and maintaining flower/shrub beds Litter picking around the grounds Clearing drains and gullies Weed removal and general grounds improvement A genuine interest in gardening would be a real advantage. General Maintenance & Community Support Carrying out basic repairs such as fitting notice boards, building flatpack furniture and minor fixes Removing bulky waste items Assisting maintenance teams and contractors on-site Helping to manage environmental issues such as fly tipping or vandalism Being a supportive presence for residents-having a coffee and a chat is encouraged!
