Restaurant General Manager
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead our large restaurant team. Your responsibilities will include delivering exceptional standards, achieving targets, and developing your team to provide excellent customer service.
You will be instrumental in developing team skills to meet budgeted sales and margins, managing induction and training for new staff, and supporting individual learning and development plans.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the front of house and kitchen teams
2. Achieve sales targets, manage margins, and reduce waste
3. Monitor and adjust staffing levels based on trading conditions
4. Oversee recruitment, induction, and performance management processes
5. Develop the Assistant Restaurant Manager and Supervisors for succession planning
6. Participate in the Garden Centre senior management team, acting as duty manager and supporting retail colleagues
7. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained throughout the restaurant
Candidate Profile
We value individuals passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, with excellent leadership, communication skills, and previous experience managing large-volume, high-turnover food service operations. Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene legislation is essential.
Position Details
This is a full-time, permanent role based at Forest Lodge Restaurant, working 38 hours per week, including alternate weekends.
Salary and Benefits
Salary from £41,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Benefits include:
