Job Overview
Hours: 4 hours per week term time including weekends, 12 hours per week school holidays including weekends.
Area: Walbottle, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Rate: £13.50 per hour.
Responsibilities
* Accompany and assist Molly, a non‑verbal child with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder, to access the local community and participate in activities of her choice.
* Implement positive behavior strategies to manage potential self‑injurious behaviors and promote regulatory techniques.
* Provide personal care tasks such as pull‑up pad and diaper changes when required.
* Support Molly during outings using an adapted stroller and public transport.
* Ensure constant supervision, as Molly has no sense of danger.
* Encourage participation in preferred activities such as swimming, soft play, trampoline parks, park and nature trips, painting, climbing, food play, and music & dance routines.
* Maintain a good level of fitness to support Molly’s energetic nature.
Candidate Qualifications
* Experience working with children who have Autism or similar sensory processing challenges.
* Ability to respond constructively to indirect communication and guide non‑verbal children toward desired outcomes.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build child‑centered relationships.
* Physical fitness to support an active child during outings and indoor activities.
* Must have permission to work in the U.K. at the time of starting employment.
