About the role:
You will lead the Commercial Environmental Services team playing a key role in shaping and delivering our exciting agenda through our review of Regulatory Services.
You will be responsible for the management of the team, primarily responsible for food safety, workplace safety, and animal welfare licensing.
We are seeking a leader who will be focused on developing and motivating staff, creating a positive can-do culture, and ensuring we put the customer at the centre of our services. We focus on systems thinking and performance management to maximise our capacity.
What you will need:
We welcome applications from existing managers looking for a change in direction or candidates with supervisory experience looking to develop into a managerial role. We have a friendly, capable team looking for someone with energy, drive and excellent communication skills to lead them.
Applicants must also hold an Environmental Health Registration Board certificate (EHRB certificate) or be a Registered or Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner as defined by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health registration pathways as an essential requirement.
West Suffolk Council operate a modern tablet-based inspection system for food hygiene inspections, for which training will be provided. Site visits are required in a large rural area and so the suitable candidate will need to hold a current driving licence and/or have the ability to travel around West Suffolk.
