Role Description
We are seeking a Procurement Technician (Stores) for a full-time, on-site position based at Saltend Power Station in Kingston Upon Hull. The key responsibilities of the role will include managing purchasing processes, raising purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring efficient inventory management for the stores. This position requires a focus on monitoring stock levels, communicating with vendors for timely delivery of items, and maintaining procurement records on the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS). You will be required to perform stock takes, manage the physical location of items, racking and inspections, including forklift operations, issue stock and equipment to stakeholders, and receive deliveries, whilst managing the goods inward. You will work collaboratively with the operations and maintenance teams to meet operational objectives, and other stakeholders to deliver business requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant qualification or certification in supply chain, procurement, or a related field
* Large industrial process background or similar preferred
* Computer literate with knowledge of computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) or stock inventory management systemsExperience in purchasing processes, purchase management, and generating purchase orders
* Proven skills in stock management and managing vendor relationships
* Strong analytical skills to assess inventory requirements
* Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills
* Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment
* Flexible, willing to support business needs
* Positive attitude, able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders
