Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Start Date: September 2025

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with a range of additional learning needs across the school.

The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students who require additional support to succeed academically and socially. You will play a key role in providing tailored support, ensuring students are fully included in classroom activities, and helping them build confidence and independence. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of young learners in a supportive and dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with SEN, both in the classroom and during other school activities

* Assist the class teacher in differentiating the curriculum to meet the needs of SEN students

* Help students develop social, emotional, and academic skills

* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents

* Support students with behavioural challenges, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

* Work as part of a team with other teaching assistants, teachers, and SENCOs to deliver high-quality learning support

Who We’re Looking For:

* Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable

* A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* A commitment to providing high-quality support to all students, helping them reach their full potential

* A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
