Responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage both elective and acute patients, including spinal on‑call duties. The role involves significant spinal surgery experience within a large orthopaedic team that includes six established spinal consultants. The spinal unit provides a full range of general and specialised surgical interventions, with the exception of intra‑dural work and paediatric scoliosis. 3D imaging with computerised navigation is available.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess FRCS or equivalent, have completed a Higher Specialist Training Programme in Trauma and Orthopaedics or Neurosurgery, and hold full GMC registration. Candidates must be eligible for entry onto the GMC Specialist Register via either:
* Certification of Completion of Training (CCT) – the CCT must be within six months of the interview date.
* Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) – CESR candidates must have written GMC confirmation upon successful application.
