Overview

Salary: Band 4 - starting salary £17,028 (FTE £28,381). Hours: 0.6 FTE. Contract Type: Fixed Term - until July 2026 in the first instance. Closing date: 14/11/2025.

Arts University Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to its Pre-Degree team. This role involves teaching across the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, and Extended Diploma in Filmmaking & Media Production within the Further Education, Pre-Degree (Post-16) team.


About You

Were looking for someone who brings both subject expertise and a passion for teaching. You will:

* Have a strong background in filmmaking, media production, or related creative fields.
* Be committed to delivering innovative and inclusive teaching that engages and motivates students.
* Have experience in curriculum design and delivery within an FE or HE context.
* Bring excellent communication, organisational, and pastoral skills.
* Be enthusiastic about supporting diverse learners to succeed and progress.
* Value collaboration, creativity, and a dynamic team environment.


About The Role

This is a varied and rewarding role, combining teaching and curriculum development with academic and pastoral support. Youll foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment, encouraging experimentation, independent thinking, and professional readiness.


You Will

* deliver high-quality, inclusive, and industry-focused teaching that supports students in developing their technical, creative, and critical skills.
* design and deliver engaging workshops, seminars, and projects that reflect current industry practices.
* prepare students for progression into higher education, freelancing, apprenticeships, or creative careers.
* deliver engaging, student-centred teaching across a range of filmmaking and media production units.
* Support students in building creative portfolios, showreels, and progression applications.
* Provide constructive feedback to support students academic, technical, and creative development.
