Overview
Reporting directly to the Barge Supervisor, this role will be located in the In-Port Naval Bases. The role will more widely integrate with the Operations team and Technical team. The key purpose of this role is to conduct barge operations within the In-Port Areas, including fuel delivery to warships and discharging fuel lubricants, ware and sullage. The role will also involve undertaking maintenance on the vessels in line with Company procedures.
Responsibilities
* To conduct barge operations throughout, including fuel delivery to warships within the Port of Plymouth
* Partake in the maintenance of the vessels in accordance with the Company\'s approved system
* Maintain a safe working environment regarding Health and Safety at Work Act and Oil Pollution Regulations
* Responsible for loading and discharging fuel lubricants, water and sullage
* Ensure compliance with statutory regulations
* To be fully aware of and capable of carrying out emergency operation of all vessel systems
* To be responsible for, and assist, Base staff and sub-contractors working onboard
* Be prepared to train as a barge crane driver
* Communicate effectively with Customers, Management, and office staff
* Health and Safety awareness
* Prepared to train so fully conversant with the operation of all barges in port
What you will need to do the role
* Hold or able to achieve an SC clearance
* Hold a ENG1 Medical Certificate
* STCW Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
* STCW Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF)
* STCW Elementary First Aid (EFA)
* STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)
