Baltic Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor for a client located in Newton Aycliffe. This role aims to strengthen the site Engineering Team to improve asset reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Section Leader to develop maintenance best practices.
The Maintenance Supervisor will provide hands-on leadership, direction, and supervision to the site maintenance team. They will ensure that business needs are met through effective planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities while adhering to HSE standards.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Promote a positive HSE culture at both departmental and site levels.
* Ensure risks are properly assessed and safe systems of work are followed.
* Lead, motivate, and support a team of multi-skilled maintenance technicians to meet operational needs.
* Plan, prioritize, and delegate preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks.
* Coordinate and oversee planned shutdown works.
* Administer the site CMMS.
* Manage critical and non-critical spares inventory.
Applicants:
* Must have served a recognized engineering apprenticeship (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
* Have proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within the process industry.
* Have a strong understanding of HSE legislation, particularly around COMAH regulations, PTW, and LOTO, ideally supported by a recognized H&S qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH).
* Be competent in the use of CMMS and IT systems.
* Ability to follow structured thought processes and methodologies.
* Maintain attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills at all levels within and outside the organization.
* Mechanical bias preferred.
