Home Type: Brand-New 3 & 4 Bedded LD or EBD homes. Location: Solihull and Acock's Green (3 and 4 Bedded homes). Package: Up to £65k, plus generous bonus package. 36 days Annual Leave. Who will you be working for? This therapeutic PACE led organisation is in a growth phase. They operate two Ofsted-registered children's homes, both rated “Good,” with two new properties in Solihull and Acocks Green. They have strong leadership with a clinical doctor at the helm and have been announced as finalists of the National Children & Young People Awards for their work this year.
You will be responsible for registering a brand-new children's home according to your specialism (LD or EBD - you choose!) alongside an experienced and supportive Responsible Individual. You will recruit your own staff team with final say on personnel, and you will have full Head Office / Back Office support and access to ClearCare reporting software.
Responsibilities
* Run a children’s home to a Good or Outstanding standard, adhering to Ofsted’s Children’s Home Act (2015), Quality Standards, and Safeguarding Procedures.
* Manage a staff team, complete supervisions and appraisals, and ensure trainings are conducted in line with Quality Standards.
* Develop and review Ofsted-required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and regulated “Reg” reports; attend and engage in LAC, EHCP, PEP and Pathway Planning meetings and reviews.
* Communicate effectively with young people, colleagues, families, and external professionals.
* Carry out administrative tasks such as health and safety checks, medication audits, rotas, finances, recruitment activities, and inductions.
* Attend to on-call responsibilities to provide expert advice in out-of-hour crises.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 2+ years’ experience leading a team specifically within a children’s home environment.
* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
* Understanding of the SCCIF, Children’s Home Act (2015), and Quality Standards; ability to register as a manager with Ofsted; and pass a Fit Person’s Interview.
* A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people and for your staff team.
