We have a contract opening for a skilled and proactive SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join their IT team in Magherafelt. This role is critical in ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will also play a key role in engaging with internal stakeholders to understand data needs and support business intelligence initiatives. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and optimise SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments. Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required. Ensure database security, integrity, stability, and system availability. Collaborate with software developers and IT teams to support application development and deployment. Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide data insights, and support reporting needs. Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies. Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies. Support data migration, transformation, and integration projects. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role. Strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning. Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Familiarity with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment. Desirable Qualifications Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar. Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL). Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualisation tools. What We Offer Competitive day rate.
