Behaviour Teaching Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support students in schools across the Thrapston area. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for working with young people who may present challenging behaviour or have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
You will play a key role in helping students engage with learning, develop positive behaviours, and build confidence in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural needs
* Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using positive strategies
* Support students both in and out of the classroom
* Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement behaviour support plans
* Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation
* Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural needs, is desirable
* A calm, patient, and consistent approach
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
