Our client operates across the oil & gas, nuclear, and renewables sectors and is experiencing significant growth both in the UK and internationally. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at a pivotal stage and play a key role in supporting continued expansion. They are specifically interested in engineers from a fire protection, fire detection or fire & safety background who enjoy being client-facing, are commercially aware and take a structured approach to managing opportunities. Key responsibilities: -Engage with clients to understand fire risk, hazard profiles, operational constraints, and compliance requirements -Interpret client needs and develop appropriate fire protection, detection, or safety solutions -Provide pre-sales technical support, including system selection, design philosophy input, scope definition, and technical clarifications -Support the preparation of technical proposals, tenders, and quotations in collaboration with the Proposals Engineer -Review specifications and identify clarifications, deviations, risks, and opportunities at tender stage -Lead or support client meetings, technical discussions, and presentations, acting as the technical focal point -Follow up quotations and opportunities, providing technical input to support commercial negotiations -Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, opportunities, and activities within the CRM system -Coordinate internally with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure proposed solutions are deliverable -Develop and maintain long-term client relationships, identifying repeat business and follow-on opportunities -Contribute to the development of technical sales and marketing material, case studies, and capability presentations The successful candidate will either have a proven track record in technical sales or be looking to transition from a technical engineering role into sales. You will possess strong communication skills and the confidence to explain and defend technical decisions. Additionally, you will have experience with client-facing documentation, proposals, or tenders, and demonstrate strong business acumen to support the full sales cycle.
