Operating Department Practitioners and Registered Nurses

At this exciting time, we are looking for an Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Nurse to work within our Orthopaedic Trauma Theatres.

We are seeking dedicated and dynamic staff to join our experienced teams to support the safe delivery of care and engage with the trust's transformation and strategic vision. With a focus on quality, safety, transformation, and service development, we are increasing our operating theatre suite and are looking for enthusiastic people to join our expanding theatre department.
Experience in the department is desirable but not essential. You will join our extensive theatre team with diverse skills, enabling you to gain further knowledge and advance your career.
This role requires an NMC registered nurse (Advanced Diploma/Degree in Adult Health Nursing) or HCPC registered ODP (Dip (HE) Operating Department Practice).
Newly qualified staff nurses/ODPs will also be considered for this role.

UHD is investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.
In some cases, services may move sites this year or next, either temporarily or long-term. Recruiting Team Leaders interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions at interview.
There is a planned move for this service in 2026, when it will relocate to Bournemouth site, and Elective Orthopaedics will come to the Poole site.
Please note, if the role or service relocates as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
