About The Role
The Alliance is a leading early years charity and the largest voluntary sector provider for childcare services. We are pleased to be taking part in the Kickstart Scheme, which provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16‑24 year olds on Universal Credit.
We have an opportunity for a Nursery Trainee at our Early Birds Nursery based in Cornwall, Bude, EX23 8EA. The setting is part of a group of full daycare nurseries and pre‑schools that provide childcare and support for young children and their families. This role is fixed for a period of 6 months in line with the funding arrangements provided by the Department of Work and Pensions.
Hourly Rate
* £8.91 per hour (aged 23 and over)
* £8.36 per hour (aged 21 to 22)
* £6.56 per hour (aged 18 to 20)
* £1.24 per hour London Weighting Allowance (for London based positions)

Main Duties
* Work with children, assisting with all aspects of their day‑to‑day care and education and maintain a safe, enjoyable environment.
* Support the setting to deliver care that will enhance the children's general health and well‑being.
* Be part of a team that contributes to the development of childcare.
Essential Criteria
* A willingness to learn and an interest in working with young children.
* Good oral communication skills with a friendly, flexible approach and good customer awareness.
