Responsibilities:
1. Undertake physical and mental health assessments for people accessing our services based on clinical need, and ensure appropriate signposting/referral to primary or secondary healthcare services for identified health issues.
2. Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBV). Administer Hepatitis B vaccinations when indicated.
3. Contribute to CGL’s Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in Naloxone use, and ensure Naloxone distribution to service users at every opportunity.
4. Develop therapeutic alliances with individuals experiencing substance misuse problems and foster effective partnerships.
5. Regularly review procedures to promote best and evidence-based practices in line with UK Guidelines on Clinical Management, NICE guidance, and CGL protocols.
6. Provide harm reduction advice to injecting service users, including information and equipment, ensuring safe disposal of all equipment.
7. Record and input client data accurately to meet contractual, administrative, and financial requirements.
About you:
1. First level registered nurse with recent relevant post-qualification experience and a current PIN.
2. Experience working within drug and alcohol treatment (desirable but not essential).
3. Knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
4. Ability to assess, develop recovery plans, and write reports for service users.
5. Skills in clinical auditing to evaluate and improve service quality.
6. Professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users and stakeholders.
7. Understanding of professional integrity in relationships with service users, peers, and other professionals.
