Are you a highly motivated band 5 dietitian with a desire to move into or already working in paediatrics in the community? We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with excellent organisation and team working skills to join our well respected community service. This post would be ideal if you have a desire to work in community paediatrics but have limited experience in this area. The Alder Hey community dietetic team consists of B7, B6 and dietetic assistant practitioner roles and we cover the Liverpool and Sefton areas. There are office bases in both locations.
The team look after home enterally fed patients, have general paediatric dietetic clinics in various locations across Liverpool and Sefton and also deliver parent education sessions for families with cows milk allergy babies.
You will be responsible for managing your own case load of patients with clinical support from the wider team of specialist dietitians.
A genuine interest in paediatrics and children's health care is a key requirement for this post. We are a supportive team and regular clinical supervision will be provided as well as varied CPD opportunities.
Clinical
* Accept clinical responsibility for the dietetic management of patients and organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and demonstrate a flexible approach to changing circumstances.
* Undertake assessment of nutritional status, nutritional requirements and expected outcome of complex patients taking into account clinical, social and cultural factors.
* Analyse and interpret the complex, multiple components of the medical, nutritional and clinical dietetic assessments and make a judgement from a range of clinical options on how this information contributes to the formulation of a diagnosis and a resultant treatment care plan.
* Plan and implement dietetic intervention based on the result of the nutritional assessment to achieve the expected outcome.
* Monitor, review and re-evaluate the dietetic management and other associated medical treatments against outcome measures adjusting the dietetic treatment care plan and goals.
* Communicate with clinicians, including those at the most senior levels, all relevant aspects of the dietetic care plan both on an individual patient basis and in multi disciplinary team forums.
* Communicate complex and sensitive information to children and their families in a way which is understandable to them and which may include unwelcome or difficult to accept information.
