Our client is a market leader in Events Shipping and has an exciting new opportunity for a Freight Operations Agent with experience in either export or import freight forwarding. This role is ideal for someone with general freight forwarding operations experience and an interest in music/live events, looking to move into the dynamic world of live event logistics.
Main purpose of the Freight Operations Agent – Events
The main responsibility is to coordinate the movement of goods and materials, ensuring efficient and safe transportation from origin to destination. This involves overseeing shipping and receiving logistics, scheduling shipments, liaising with carriers and suppliers, tracking shipments, and resolving issues during transit. The role is vital in maintaining supply chain efficiency and ensuring timely, intact deliveries. Additional duties include managing documentation such as bills of lading and customs paperwork, and optimizing routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Main duties for the Freight Operations Agent – Events
1. Handling all modes of transport – air, ocean, and road import/export.
2. Managing customs procedures, primarily carnets, as well as permanent and temporary imports/exports, with knowledge of ASM Customs system.
3. Understanding CDS systems.
4. Ability to prepare export documentation.
5. Providing quotes to clients.
6. Delivering high levels of customer service, including following up on post-flight and PODs.
7. Inputting cost accruals and invoicing jobs to clients.
8. Weekend and out-of-hours work as required, which will be paid.
9. Possession of a full, clean driving license.
10. Steady employment history of at least 5 years and no criminal record.
11. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
12. Physical work involved.
Employment Terms for the Freight Operations Agent – Events
1. Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (office-based).
2. Salary range: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE.
3. Pension and Healthcare benefits (post-probation).
4. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
5. One weekend cover in six, paid.
6. Overtime paid when required.
