An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Computer Science to join a thriving secondary school in Somerset. With a dedicated and well-resourced department already delivering Computer Science at KS3, KS4 and A-Level, the successful candidate will lead curriculum development, team management and drive the further success of the subject.

You will set the vision and strategy for Computer Science across the school, ensuring the department meets the needs of all students and raises attainment.

You will teach Computer Science (including GCSE and A-Level) and mentor colleagues to deliver high quality, engaging lessons.

You will take responsibility for curriculum planning, assessment, monitoring student progress, managing resources and promoting the subject both inside and outside the classroom.

You will join a supportive leadership team committed to providing a rich and varied education, located in a fantastic part of Somerset.
What we’re looking for:

Qualified teacher status (or equivalent) with excellent subject knowledge in Computer Science.

Proven experience teaching Computer Science at KS4 and KS5 (or a strong passion to develop this).

Leadership skills to motivate, manage and develop a team of staff.

Strong communicator, able to engage students, staff and external partners.
*
Innovative, reflective and committed to continuous professional development and best practice.

A positive approach to technology, computing pedagogy and preparing students for a digital world.
