We are seeking an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer who will be responsible for designing a range of steel and concrete solutions and be technically responsible for strengthening technology innovation, development and validation for a range of applications.
Duties and responsibilities for the Structural Engineer will include:
1. Acting as technical lead on projects large and small
2. Liaising with and leading other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives
3. Undertaking analysis and design using a range of software packages and from first principles
4. Ensuring that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports etc.) are maintained
5. Preparing high-quality technical reports and calculations to support internal and external sign-off
6. Liaise and work with the internal team of other mechanical/structural engineers and contract/business managers, and external parties such as experimental testing facilities and Universities
7. Developing own knowledge and ability
8. Continuous improvement activities to support business growth
9. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to continuously improve design practices and enhance construction efficiency
10. Keeping senior management up to date on project status and progress
To be successful in this role, we would be keen to speak with Structural Engineers with the following:
1. Must be a Chartered Structural Engineer with ICE or IStructE, or at least have a live application
2. MEng degree (or BEng and Masters) in Civil/Structural engineering
3. Proficient in the use of 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX, Autodesk Suite or similar)
4. Significant experience with re-enforced concrete
5. A high degree of initiative and strong problem-solving capability
6. Demonstrable practical manufacturing or assembly experience
7. The ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a member of a high-performance team
8. Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
