Responsibilities
Cleaning responsibilities:
* Working in designated areas as prescribed on a rotating basis and as instructed by the Care Home Manager or Deputy Home Manager.
* Vacuuming and cleaning residents' rooms, the corridors and all communal areas within the care home to a high standard.
* Ensuring the furniture, fittings, fabric and equipment are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
* Being respectful of residents' personal belongings and helping contribute to their upkeep (e.g. furniture) and ensuring any objects removed for cleaning are replaced in the same position.
* Ensuring the residents are safe while carrying out cleaning tasks.
Laundry responsibilities:
* Collecting residents' personal laundry as per the rota in the morning and returning to the residents the same day or informing residents of any outstanding laundry.
* Ensuring that all clothes washed are dried correctly using the tumble dryer, ensuring that it is set at the correct temperature depending on the type of fabric.
* You will be responsible for ironing clothes and linen, ensuring that the iron is set to the correct temperature and not left unattended.
* Collecting and sorting soiled linen into the correct categories ensuring that soiled items are not washed with unsoiled items.
Qualifications
* Ability to recognise residents' rooms and belongings are personal and private
* Awareness of Health and Safety, COSHH regulations and manual handling
* To demonstrate safe practices
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Maintain a polite and courteous manner towards residents, staff and visitors to the home at all times
