Join BEUMER Group in the Midlands as a Commissioning Engineer and be the driving force behind cutting-edge automation solutions that keep the world moving!
General Responsibilities
To commission, modify, troubleshoot, and support equipment at customer locations, ensuring the highest quality of work. Must be able to travel 80% of the time to project sites for extended periods.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Commissioning of automated controls for supplied or modified equipment in a timely and professional manner.
2. Develop and deliver on-site testing (function, integration, capacity).
3. Report and follow up on open points (JIRA).
4. Ensure implementation and handover of the final system and transfer to Hotline.
5. Installation/adjustment of electrical & mechanical equipment as required.
6. Handover to the customer.
7. Provide remote technical support as assigned.
8. Interpret circuit diagrams and layout drawings for installation and troubleshooting.
9. Coordinate with BEUMER software team during commissioning and troubleshooting.
10. Maintain professional relationships with customers and project personnel.
11. Communicate activities to relevant personnel promptly and professionally.
12. Travel domestically 80% of the time.
13. Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Skills / Qualifications
* 5-7 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar Electro/Mechanical skills.
* Experience in logistics and/or material handling equipment; roles like Automation Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrician, or similar.
* HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* Ability to interpret circuit diagrams.
* Proficiency with Siemens S7, Ladder, and STL programming.
* Strong troubleshooting skills.
* Experience with remote software handling.
* Basic database knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Professionalism and good time management.
* Construction Site H&S experience.
* Valid driving license.
Flexibility for night, weekend work, and call-outs is required. Ideally, candidates are based in Heathrow, Midlands, or North West.
