About the role
The University is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to support its Capital Programme and finance team. Key responsibilities include overseeing the Financial Planning and Management Information Tool (IBM Analytics) and the University's Finance system.
The role involves working within the Capital Programme Finance team, providing analysis and support for capital projects and revenue investment programmes, with an emphasis on developing Business Partner skills. It also includes performing management accounting duties such as month and year-end activities, analysis, and reconciliations to support financial control and budget monitoring.
The successful candidate will make process improvement recommendations and oversee technical development projects.
About you
Applicants should have experience in a Management Accounting role, including processing monthly and year-end accounts. Candidates should be part-qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification, with relevant experience in financial reporting for a similarly sized and complex organisation.
You should be highly numerate with excellent IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and intermediate Excel skills (e.g., formulas like SUMIF, VLOOKUP, PivotTables). Experience with multi-user finance systems and IBM Planning Analytics or similar tools is required.
